We are a unique, relaxed group of all ages who prefer to walk at a comfortable pace enjoying the scenery, as opposed to the more strenuous hikes of many other rambling groups. We endeavour to show consideration for walkers of varying degrees of fitness, but do advise contacting the walk leader for information about a particular walk.
Unless otherwise stated in our programme, all-day walks vary between 5 and 8 miles, depending on the weather and terrain, and generally last between 4 and 5 hours. For those members who are interested, the walks are normally followed by refreshments at a local tea shop, or occasionally ‘picnics’ at the walk venue.
Although we are an easy going rambling group, high standards of safety and common sense are applied, particularly when on the High Moorland or walking on lanes and roads.
Sorry, we do not permit dogs on our rambles
There is an annual fee of £10 which helps towards advertising and administration costs. We are a non-profit making group.
